Booth app for Windows

For a photobooth with a computer: the camera plugged into the PC, the photo printer and a locked full screen. Same booth, same events as on a tablet.

Windows shows a warning? That's expected — here is what to click
  1. In the browser (Edge): “is not commonly downloaded” → click ··· then Keep, then Show more → Keep anyway.
  2. On launch, “Windows protected your PC” → More info → Run anyway.
  3. The installation then runs by itself and the app opens full screen. These messages only appear once.

Why? The app is new and not yet signed with a Microsoft certificate: Windows warns about any file it rarely sees. It contains nothing but the booth.

The same baseline as the photobooth software on the market: common Canon and Nikon DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, driven over USB, with real high-resolution photos. Sony cameras and webcams work in Webcam mode.

Four steps, once.

  1. Download and install the app on your tablet.
  2. Type the booth code shown on your event page.
  3. Allow the camera when Android asks.
  4. Stand the tablet on a tripod — you're live.

Install from a Windows PC

An .apk file doesn't open directly on Windows. To install it from the booth's computer, use ADB (Android Debug Bridge), Android's official tool.

  1. Download the app above and ADB, then unzip ADB into a folder.
  2. Put the .apk file in that folder and open a terminal there (right-click → “Open in Terminal”).
  3. Check that the Android device is detected:adb devices
